House District 11A

- Torrey Westrom - R (Campaign Finance Bd.) (Elected)
- Bruce Campbell - DFL (Campaign Finance Bd.)
- Dave Holman - Independence (Campaign Finance Bd.)
100% rural. The district has fertile farmland planted mainly in corn, soybeans, wheat and sunflowers. Lakes freckle the rolling landscape and tourists supplement the economy. Duck hunters return to the area's sloughs each fall. Douglas County is where 4-H started in Minnesota. It is also where the Kensington Runestone was found, sparking a cottage industry about whether it is authentic or not. Grant County includes the town of Herman, best known for having so many bachelors. The workforce is mixed, although much of it is directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. Many residents commute from smaller towns to the larger ones for employment. Tourism, golf, fishing, lake resorts and private cabins make local recreation a source of economic activity. Nursing homes in the district also provide a significant number of jobs. Politically, the district leans Republican.
