Started by and all-volunteer collective of justice-minded youth, the Jack Pine Community Center is a real bright spot on East Lake Street. Besides being a great meeting and event space, the center provides free internet access, a library, recreational activities and other community services on a drop-in basis. It's also a hub for organizing against the 2008 Republican Convention.
