The Freeman Lecture will feature a keynote address by Congressman James Oberstar. Oberstar who chairs the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, which has jurisdiction over the nation's waterways, will be discussing the future of water in Minnesota.

The "Voting Justice, Voting Hope" conference is this weekend at the Depot in downtown Minneapolis. The Conference will discuss the Progressive Christian Faith and the critical issue of politics and faith. Presenter include. Christian leader Jim Wallis, editor of the Sojourner magazine Ray Suarez, PBS correspondent Jim Lehrer, and Rabbi Michael Lerner. Registration is $95 and be be done by visiting the previous link.

Jane Goodall, renowned primatologist and chimpanzee expert will give the commencement address at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine Commencement Ceremony. Along with the commencement address, Goodall will be giving a public lecture and holding a news conference. The public lecture begins at 11 a.m with the news conference following at 12 p.m. by the news conference.
